Wild Maqui Berry Supplement - Natural Antioxidant to Fight Free Radicals
Wild Maqui Berry is a dietary supplement containing superfruits called Maqui berries which are used to make a rejuvenating Latin American beverage called chicha. It is standardised to 28% delphinidin, an anthocyanin which has been widely studied by scientists.
What health benefits do Maqui berries offer?
Maqui berries are the small fruits of the bushy tree Aristotelia Chilensis, which grows in Chilean Patagonia, one of the planet’s most unspoilt regions. They are traditionally consumed by the Mapuche Indians for a wide range of purposes, especially during the winter months.
The Mapuche are an ethnic group and indigenous people from Chile and Argentina, also known by the name Araucans. They are the only native Americans in the whole continent to have never been conquered. According to several 18th century Spanish documents, Mapuche warriors used to consume a fermented drink several times a day made from Maqui berries which they called ‘Chicha’, and to which they attributed their extraordinary vigour.
What compounds do Maqui berries contain?
The scientific community began to be interested in Maqui berries because of their exceptionally high content of polyphenols and anthocyanins(1).
One, in particular, caught their attention: delphinidin (delphinidin-3-glucoside-5-to give it its full name). A plant pigment responsible for the berries’ blue colour, delphinidin’s potential pharmaceutical properties have generated multiple studies in recent years (2-4).
Maqui berries contain significant amounts of delphinidin, as well as of its derivatives, which are also of interest to researchers (5-6): delphinidin-3-sambubioside-5-glucoside, delphinidin-3,5-diglucoside, cyanidin-3-sambubioside-5-gluco-side, cyanidin-3,5-diglucoside, etc.
Our exceptional supplement standardised to 35% anthocyanins and at least 28% delphinidin enables you to benefit from these precious phytonutrients.
What are anthocyanins and what benefits do they offer?
Anthocyanins are water-soluble pigments which are responsible for the red, violet or blue colours of certain flowers (poppies, cornflowers, mallows), fruits and vegetables (cherries, aubergines, elderberries …), leaves (vines), and roots (red onions). Pharmacologically, they have vitamin P properties.
The main anthocyanins are:
- malvidin (bilberry, grape);
- cyanidin (apple, blackberry, red cabbage, gooseberry, rhubarb, cherry, pear, fig …);
- delphinidin (maqui berry, passion fruit, pomegranate, aubergine …);
- pelargonidin (strawberry, banana, radish …).
Why take Wild Maqui Berry?
Maqui berries are fruits with extraordinary potential, but unfortunately, their benefits are only accessible to those who live in the region where they grow: the fact that they are very unstable makes it impossible to preserve them or market them.
The supplement Wild Maqui Berry thus presents a unique opportunity to enjoy the health benefits of this superfruit.
How should it be taken?
We recommend a dose of 3 capsules daily, either before or after each main meal of the day.
Alongside Maqui berry, we’d also recommend taking the following supplements:
- Immunity Booster, rich in echinacea, a plant that helps the body’s defence system to function well;
- Adaptix, which combines all the best adaptogen plants;
- Green Propolis, the health secret of the beehive.
